
Ms. Neala Wanjala - Acting Director General, Public Private Partnerships Directorate
Ms. Wanjala is the Acting Director General of the Public Private Partnerships (PPP) Directorate at the National Treasury. An Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, she holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Nairobi, a Master of Laws from the University of London, and an MBA from the United States International University, Africa. She is also a Certified PPP Professional (AMPG CP3P) and a Certified Public Secretary.
With over two decades of experience in Kenya’s financial and regulatory sectors, Ms. Wanjala brings a wealth of expertise in legal and policy frameworks for infrastructure development. Since joining the PPP Directorate five years ago, she has played an important role in advancing Kenya’s PPP agenda. In June 2024, she was appointed Director of Legal Services, overseeing the full spectrum of project development—from initiation and screening to contract execution and management.
Under her leadership, the Legal Department served as the Secretariat to the PPP Committee, Kenya’s apex decision-making body for PPP projects. Her mandate extended to regulatory oversight, including the review and refinement of sector laws to align with evolving infrastructure needs.
Ms. Wanjala’s strategic vision and commitment to excellence continue to position the PPP Directorate as a driving force in Kenya’s economic transformation.
