the G-24 Deputies Meeting during the ongoing 2025 IMF-World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington D.C.

Dr. Chris Kiptoo CBS, the principal Secretary for the National Treasury this morning attended the G-24 Deputies Meeting during the ongoing 2025 IMF-World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington D.C.

The high-level session discussed the IMF’s latest Economic Outlook for 2025, highlighting global growth prospects and emerging risks—particularly for developing economies. Held under the theme “Enhancing Domestic Responsiveness in a Shock-prone World,” the meeting also explored strategies to insulate economies from external shocks such as climate change, geopolitical instability, and global financial volatility.

Kenya is strengthening its macroeconomic policy framework while accelerating structural reforms aimed at sustainable and inclusive growth.
The G-24 platform, within the IMF and World Bank system, serves as a vital forum for shaping equitable financial policies and advancing the development priorities of low- and middle-income countries.

PS Dr. Kiptoo and CS Hon. FCPA John Mbadi are leading the Kenyan delegation to the 2025 Spring Meetings, taking place from April 21 to 26 in Washington D.C.
