Public Participation on 2025 Medium Term Debt Management Strategy (MTDS) in Uasin Gishu County.
Public Participation on 2025 Medium Term Debt Management Strategy (MTDS).
The National Treasury team led by Deputy Director Debt Management, Mr. Benard Gibet and Assistant Director Debt Management, Mr. Douglas Manyara is currently in Eldoret Town Hall taking the centre stage in public participation of the 2025 Medium Term Debt Management Strategy in line with Article 201 of the Constitution of Kenya.
The National Treasury takes cognizant that public participation strengthens and legitimises state decisions, actions and development interventions, and that it is an important element of good governance and the foundation for a true democracy.
This is in addition to recognizing the benefits of public participation, and that the Constitution of Kenya created new spaces for interaction, declared the citizen sovereign and demand that the public must be involved in every aspect of public governance.
Article 10 of the Constitution lists public participation as one of the national values and principles of governance that binds all state organs, state and public officers, and all persons in Kenya whenever any of them applies or interprets the Constitution, enacts, applies or interprets any laws, or makes or implements public policy decisions.
